TRAVEL DAY so you’ll get a potpourri of stories tonight!
If you are following us on the map, you will notice we are now going east. Why is the campground called Gas City you might ask…in 1883 when drilling for water, they accidentally struck gas, west of town. It is one of the largest gas fields in North America!
Ever since Covid we have made it a practice not to use any restrooms on the roadtrip except the one we carry in the camper we pull behind us. Today, when Harry unlocked the camper for me at our gas stop…I walked in to see the latch on our refrigerator had popped open and flung food everywhere. No too bad except our jug of maple syrup was one of the things that flew and the cap opened upon impact. Nothing more difficult to clean up than syrup…maybe oil but oh, my dear a VERY sticky business in the middle of travel day. And it wasn’t any wimpy bottle!
Here’s a strange one…yesterday, in a store, two pretty young sales girls said they just loved my accent!😳 These two had beautiful French Canadian accents, themselves. They one said…I know who you sound like…Miley Cyrus.
