The Canadian Rockies.
Bow Lake…notice two things. The clarity of the water and the smokiness of the air. The quality of the air would end up bothering me, specifically as the day went on.

Here is another picture of Liam and us at Bow Lake.

Liam spoke of his friend several times during the day who died in an avalanche this spring. Liam lives a very daring life, living in his auto year round, skiing and climbing mountains every chance he gets.
Peyto Lake. Named after the first forest warden of the area…Wild Bill Peyto. Known for being a bit quirky. Once he let a wild lynx loose in a bar so it would scare the other patrons out and let him have a drink in peace.

Yoho Provincial Park in British Columbia

Takakkaw Falls..drops 1,200 feet from Daly Glacier. The name Takakkaw comes from a Cree word translated “wonderful”

We were getting soaked by the spray and boy was it icy cold!

This is what the water looked like coming down from the falls…very milky looking because it is full of limestone.
Lake Louise.
If we only had time and I could get my knee into the canoe…we could have had a boat ride!
Lake Moraine. Harry scrambled up what they call the pile of rocks and took this beautiful shot. I sat and watched them climb as my lungs and throat were burning from the smoke.
This is the backside of the pile of rocks he scrambled up. There were 75 rough hewn steps he could climb.
We saw a female elk on the way in this morning , however, I wasn’t fast enough to take her picture. These two begged to have their pictures taken! Beggars!
Back at the camper…Finn has decided his old bed isn’t padded enough.. He’s rolling it up like a burrito.

    sad to hear of the guides loss of a friend this year.

    Hope you have recovered from the smoke through that day. You still got great pictures, I’m sure it was awesome sauce being there in person!

    1. M, thanks so much! Smoke issues were made tougher for me with the altitude of the hikes, I think. Smoke is still an issue here. Everyone in the vacation business keeps saying it’s going to clear up tomorrow but we spoke to someone today that said they thought it would be days before it cleared. Hope all is well with you!❤️143

    1. D. I still have a bit of a cough but it isn’t too bad. We’ve gone as far west as we are going. We hare headed east now but still in Alberta…the flat part!😄. Love, K
