The crazy wind yesterday did us a huge favor… It was a glorious day!

It’s still as nice of a park as the last time we visited!
We had a great view of Roosevelt’s library from his National Park. Follow the arrow. I think the architect did a marvelous job making the building blend into the landscape.

Animals of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Everyone loves the Prairie Dogs! They don’t pay too much attention to us, humans. They live in “towns“ and the towns contain smaller families of prairie dogs called coteries. They are known as a keystone species which means everything is connected to them in some way!
What a surprise it was to come over a hill and see these wild horses crossing the road. Several of the horses were wearing trackers which help visitors find their location in the park. We just happen upon them. They run in bands and they descend from ranching livestock that were present when the park was fenced in 1956.
The only Bison we saw was this guy. He was a bit bashful and wouldn’t smile for the camera! We saw evidence on the ground of his presence, long before we saw him.

The sky today was the azure blue sky we have come to love and expect when we come out west! So thankful for today and all of the gifts along the way!😍

Medora Musical at the Burning Hills Amphitheater

Dinner at the Medora Pitchfork Fondue on Tjaden Terrace at the Burning Hills Amphitheater.

The average annual attendance of the Medora Musical is 115,000. Seats 2,800 per performance.

Something for everyone!
It was a very entertaining show! So many people from all over the U.S. were cast members for the show. In the audience this evening they celebrated a woman who was there on a bus tour…she had been in the cast the first three years they put it on. That started in 1965. They have been doing this for 61 year. Pretty amazing.

    1. Great show…reminded us of Kaitlyn and the Liberty outdoor show! I think they had a much larger cast than in Elizabethton! Similar to a cruise show! Off to Montana this am!
