Vagabond Tales- His Mercies Are New Every Morning – Happy Sunday

August 2, 2026. Boots Campground – Site 2- Medora, North Dakota

Miles and miles of nothing but sunflowers! Gorgeous!

And everything else…beautiful prairie! We were talking and we think there is just something peaceful about the rolling hills of the prairie!
We stopped in Bismarck, ND to visit Harry’s cousin, Ben Morgan and his daughter Cindy and husband, Russ Heier on our way through…actually, Harry planned the whole trip around seeing Ben.

Growing up, Harry looked up to his cousin Ben who was 10 years older. Ben was always the first to do everything…first to play on ball teams, first to drive, first to date girls…all the milestones that were so important to a younger cousin. Harry admired him every step of the way. The stories about Ben are the kind that legends are made of.

Last night we were in a beautifully manicured campground with space and beauty galore! Tonight we are in a gravel parking lot… parked camper cheek to cheek! If I open the window beside my bed, I might be able to share a well loved book with the couple next door! Such is the life of a camper!
Harry is waving good-night…Finn is giving you a half wave!
I walked across the highway to get you a beautiful sunset over the Badlands!

  1. Love the sunflowers! Years ago, in Ohio, we had a den that I decorated with an assortment of all kinds of sunflower items. 🌻

  2. Dennis and I loved the beautiful pictures of the sunflowers! Will be sharing with Mary and family. We were in the Badlands about 25 years ago coming back from Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. You really feel the diversity of our beautiful country when out on the prairie with the wide open spaces. God has blessed us with such a lovely country! Very thankful!! I go back to Knoxville tomorrow so we will have Bible Study in the car going to UT. Be safe and thanks for sharing your adventures! Love to you, Harry, and Finn!!! Russells
