Vagabond Tales-Arrive in Saint Augustine

January 29-January 30

Skidaway Island State Park (Georgia)Anastasia State Park (Florida)

Sunday morning we attended our home church via video feed. We finished up a wonderful series on prayer. Predictions were weighing heavily on a rainy day, but despite the warnings, we were able to squeak in a new hike called the Sandpiper Nature Trail. I love to take pictures but my guys are not always fans. I tell them both to smile…sometimes I get a smile and sometimes I get the smile but they are not looking at me…

This time…Finn came through for me.

Pioneer camping has always meant a pretty rustic set up to me but along this trail we found these shelters. So…no tent, no problem…just organize your equipment in one of these, pictured below.

Not bad…you would be off of the ground, and safe from weather and the alligators and bobcats they have warning signs up about.
Natural sculpture is always a pleasant surprise!
Harry for the smile/look win on this picture.
We are thankful Finn has not discovered the joy of playing in water yet! He sniffs around but has shown no interest in the swim!

As you may recall, we had trouble on our last trip with the steps…Harry kept fixing it but it was just plum tuckered out, so we replaced them with this super sturdy set! A nice addition!

They tuck up nicely inside when we are on the road.
Tonight we have set up in this park in the town
of Saint Augustine- The oldest city in America.
Tomorrow we will begin our exploration.

      1. I will send you the information! We kind of wish we had done this the first day. Judy was so knowledgeable on all of the restaurants, free exhibits and a plus…she walked us right through Flagler College which was a real treat!

  1. Harry certainly is starting to remind me of Grandpa Jay with that look! He better start smiling. We love St Augustine. So many wonderful things to see and do. And such a sense of history. I remember wishing I had gone to University there. Great pics. M.E.
