Vagabond Tales- Pooh Says, “It’s a Rather Blustery Day,”

Just had to do it…2/2/22

We divided and conquered today. Harry headed off to the links and I stayed home to watch a couple tutorials on pine basket weaving.

Pine Needle Basketry Trial

I collected, washed and steeped pine needles in boiling water. Watched a couple tutorials, however, I am missing the correct kind of thread. It should be wax coated polyester or linen. Of course I have several kinds at home but not here. This thread is a thick button thread but it is slippery. If it rains tomorrow…we may go in search of some! I do like the turquoise against the rust brown of the pine needles. Don’t you?

Playing Golf in the Wind

Back at Tanglewood, Harry took on the wind and didn’t do too badly! Look how straight out that flag is flying! The top picture is hole number eight.
Not too much of a water hazard!!

Seems every day we are reminded how much we miss our traveling friend, Onyx! She was the best little traveler! Always wanted me to know where she was, so every now and then she would pop up from her bed in the back and lay her head on my shoulder!❤️

  1. Karen, love the pine basket with the turquoise! Hope you can find the right thread. It must be so hard without Onyx. She was so special and as you said “ your shadow”. Praying for strength for you and Harry as you make this first trip without her. Love traveling along with you!

    1. Diane, you know I love to figure out new things and I like to be busy. Don’t know if this will be a completed project or a learning experience. Only found some black waxed thread today and I am not sure I am too excited with black. Maybe I will finish it as a mini basket!😊. Hope you are doing well!❤️
