September 25-26, 2021 Robb Farm- Harvest Host
Yesterday the rain and wind were so persistent and strong, the tram at Cannon Mountain and the white mountain cog railway were closed. But this morning was another story, we were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous autumn day! We headed for Canon Mountain and took the tram to the top for a little hike to the lookout tower and some wonderful views!

but the line for the next trip was out the door.

Always a few pockets of color every now and then but we are just a tad early!
Franconia Notch State Park has been known as the home of the Old Man of the Mountain. He was a recognizable rock formation that made its way onto stamps and even the New Hampshire State Quarter. Our friend, Dan Johnson, even remembers snapping his portrait with his Brownie camera. Unfortunately, the Old man collapsed in 2003 due to weathering and the extreme winter elements in this region.

It’s Maple Syrup Time-

No…this is their home. We stayed in their cow pasture in our camper.
Brattleboro, Vermont. My mother’s parents were brought up here and our hosts knew some Squires…we both think they were related to George and Clara Squires….my grandparents.

from Troyer’s, just outside of Jonesborough! They are yummy!

September 26 found us watching our home church on line and driving toward home. We are staying at the Mahlon Dickerson Reservation in New Jersey.
We spent so much time there when we lived in Maine. This really makes me happy but homesick! Wonderful pics. I can taste the maple syrup!! Yum! M.E.

Looks like another fabulous trip! I’ve enjoyed following long.
Thanks, Amy! Glad you came along! It has been a fun! This was a short one as we sandwiched it in between my eye injections!😵💫
Your journeys are great to follow. Not only do we see the beauty of our United States, we learn many details of the area that you are in. You are such gracious travelers to share with us, and we do appreciate all of the hard work and time that you put into the Vagabond Tales. Thank you for including us in your journeys!
