Vagabond Tales- Love Blue Skies but Clouds Make More Stunning Photos

February 27, 2025

Drove forty miles across Death Valley to visit Ubehebe Crater ( u-bee-hee-bee) this morning and early afternoon. They figure it is pretty young by crater standards- 2,000 years old.

There is a pretty fantastic trail we could see circling the crater. It was warm and not many people were taking the challenge!
Bird shadows below!
There are ravens everywhere. Harry forgot to place our car trash in the bin last night…only to find ravens had ripped open the car trash bag which meant he had to track down all our empty water bottles they had spread around. Unfortunately, for the birds there was no food present.
We saw burros as we were coming into the park but haven’t see any this far into Death Valley. What I thought was cool at our last park is something all parks out here seem to be concerned about. They are calling them an invasive species.
Finn McCool…aka Desert Dog! We must find a Doggie Wash, soon! I’m brushing him every day but he is a dirty doggie!

Only 1 day this year with precipitation according to one of the rangers. We are off tomorrow…making the big U-turn and heading to Utah.

  1. LOVE the cloud pictures! You should post some on The Cloud Appreciation FB page. Even being a “dirty doggie” doesn’t keep Finn from being ADORABLE!! Safe travels tomorrow!❤️

  2. Hello Neighbor! I have now joined you on your journey and am enjoying your photos and comments! What an exciting adventure for you, Harry, and Finn!
I can’t wait to see where ‘we’ go tomorrow…😊

    Safe travels, Pat Bo
