Our original plan for this morning was to wake up in a leisurely way. We both were exhausted from packing and preparing for the journey over the past week and thought it would be judicious. Unfortunately, the electricity for the whole campground went off at 6:30 am and Harry’s Bi-pap quit working. So much for sleeping in!

It was a gorgeous day and wouldn’t you know it… we had both dressed too warmly for the weather in Alabama…almost 75 degrees today.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Tannehill Furnace, it was a major supplier of iron for Confederate ordnance.

Sorry about our lack of blog report last night. It’s hard to believe but we are never assured WI-FI will be available at these campgrounds.
Great pics and off to a good start! Warmer days would definitely be a blessing! LOVE THE map of adventure you have to come across the lower states! Be safe and love you guys.
