They checked our drivers licenses
and they still let us in.

So, we have been shut out of going to this museum two different years and Harry has really had it on his Florida bucket list. This was our year! Yay!

We walked in on the landing deck as this plane was landing. He just missed us.
I think it’s ingenious how they made the wings fold up so they could get more planes on the carrier.
Alan Shepard. First man in space and his Mercury capsule. It shows our age when you remember it happening. Also the Apollo space capsule… top left.
Harry had a toy plane similar to this as a kid.

We definitely saw a lot of planes…. a boat-load.

“Linner” as my good friend Anita calls a late lunch and almost dinner at
McGuire’s Irish Pub.
Once again..a very dark lit restaurant. Check out all the dollars. They must take them down each year to count it and declare it for income tax purposes. Can you imagine insuring this building?

Harry is checking out the menu. Our food pictures looked strange in this lighting. so I will tell you we ordered the Ruben Egg Rolls as an appetizer that we shared. I had a chicken salad fruit plate, Harry had a bowl of their famous bean soup and their fish and chips special. Delicious!

    1. You would love it, Mary Ellen! I bought their cookbook the first time we were there and we needed to taste a few things so I could check my pallet for when I make them again. Harry was sweet, says he likes mine best but then…I’m cooking for him!😄

  3. Have you guys been to The National Museum of the USAF Base at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH? If not, you definitely should put that on your to-do list. I may be the one who coined the phrase “linner.” Harry’s egg rolls sound good. I like the Philly Cheesesteak egg rolls at Kick Back Jack’s. They’re on the appetizer menu but I order them as my entree. Stay safe & hurry home!

    1. Yes, we have been to Wright Patt. It has been a long time…maybe when we were newly married. Harry’s Family has connections there and Seth, our nephew, although retired, now works for them as a civilian. I’m really telling you more than I know at this point because he doesn’t talk at length about work. It is interesting to see these museums but I know I look at different things than what Harry is drawn to! I like to see all the compartments for storage in the dirigibles , for instance and the Navy art work. He looks at engines and gunner mechanics.
