Vagabond Tales- Ask…Who of You Hoodie Who’d Today?

February 20, 2024 Hoodie Hoo Day Topsail Hill State Park, Santa Rosa, Florida

Hoodie Hoo Day is celebrated on February 20 every year. You are supposed to yell Hoodie Who at 12 noon to scare winter away. It always falls exactly 30 days before the first day of spring.

This year, we were waiting for the tram and Harry encouraged all our fellow campers to join us in the call. I’m sure we are known as the eccentric couple here at Topsail. They joined in…I photographed and so I celebrated all by myself on central time and Harry took my picture.

We have Eastern and Central Time Covered. Tried to publish the “Hoodie Who” cheers here but just couldn’t get it done!
Harry put his sculptor’s hat on and instead his sandcastle hat. Today he made an art piece. Titled “Topsailhenge”
Patrolling the beach and skies!
A beautiful day on the beach.
I loved the sunlight on these Saw Palmettos.
These beach bums didn’t feel like cooking tonight so they headed out to Louis Louis for some fantastic seafood. Crab cakes for Harry and I had blackened grouper. The key lime pie we shared was HUGE and scrumptious! The whole place was lit in red lights so the colors were a bit off for photography!

  1. What a fun time! Love the Hootie hoo day. I’ll have to remember this. Glad you had such a lovely day on the beach. Any shells?

    1. I think the next time you visit Destin, Diane…you and Jennifer should drive over to Topsail. You don’t have to stay here to enjoy it. 6$’s gets your car in for the day. You park and walk over to the tram station to catch the tram for the beach.

  2. Never heard of Hoodie Hoo Day and I’m a day late. I was confident that Harry would find some key lime pie on your trip. 😜 Ken wanted to go to your house & wave from the sidewalk but I didn’t want your neighbors calling the cops! Stay safe and hurry back. 💕

      1. I wasn’t trying to claim anonymity, just assumed it would pick up my e-mail since it’s sent to my e-mail. It was beautiful here yesterday & Ken went golfing. He’s still getting acquainted with those “new” clubs. Looks like today is going to be even prettier!
