February 9, 2024 Coe’s Landing County Park Campground, Tallahassee

We have been looking forward to meeting up with Kelly and Debbie Godsey, our friends from Johnson City, who now make their home in Florida and today was the day! The boys geared up for a day of golf at Golden Eagle Country Club. While Debbie, Finn and I enjoyed a trip to Alfred B. McClay Gardens and a lot catching up!

You can tell, I am not the selfie person. Top right is my first attempt. Weather was in the 70’s. It was like we had our own private trail! We sacrificed going into the formal gardens so Finn could go with us. But we got to see some crew practicing on Hall Lake! Pictured below…
As a little aside…if you have not read the book, “The Boys In The Boat“ by Daniel James Brown or seen the film version in theaters now…you should! So good!

Deb and Kelly fixed such a special steak dinner for us… and we ended with a yummy Chocolate Trifle that Debbie made! It was certainly what we call in our family…a make again dish!
