Vagabond Tales-Bid Florida a Fond Good-bye

February 28, 2023 Opelika, Alabama. Spring Villa Park Campground site 16

We have a winner! Thank you for all of your entries. We decided art was in the eye of the beholder so any entry was placed on the wheel. Harry’s sand sculpture was his version of a light house. We received many great guesses; a Spanish Citadel, Small Gothic Monastery, the House with the Upper Room, Saint Francis Winery, the Alamo, Fort Castillo de San Marcos, and a couple got lighthouse. Several of you sent in more than one guess which was great. Watch the wheel spin below and pardon my camp hair and no makeup!

Right before we crossed into the state of Alabama , we got our last chance at purchasing more citrus. This stand even had a tasting table! Great idea! Harry bought more than he had planned.
This is a county campground.
The Penn Yonge Home 1850. This was a beautiful home not far from the campground, itself. I was fascinated with all of the gingerbread trim! Sadly it really needs to be restored! I tried to find some history of the place and found an interesting accounting from the Southern Paranormal Researchers. Suffice it to say, there is some mystery associated with the history of Penn’s home.
Don’t think anyone will be swimming anytime soon!
Close quarters here. Guess there is safety in numbers. Finn used to chase the ball in the camper last fall when he was still a puppy. This trip he has outgrown the camper for chasing balls. One day on this trip, he rolled the ball back to me and now he will roll it to us if he wants to play. He rolls it while I am cooking. He rolls it to Harry on the couch. We think it is a pretty cute trick and nothing we taught him. This fun ball was a gift from Finns’ friends, Debbie, Gerald and Noel. He loves it, as you can see.
Pass the ball.
