Vagabond Tales-Wheels on the Bike Go Round and Round

February 24, 2023 Santa Rosa Beach, Florida-Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Site

Harry unwrapped the bikes we have been hauling with us and we biked around the park today. It was glorious! I love that feel of being self- propelled racing down a trail. The roads were a bit wet since we have been experiencing such heavy fog clouds in the evenings the last couple days. Even with the park full of campers, we still didn’t pass more than 6 people.

We were told we must visit Crust Artisan Bakery for dinner. We were not give any other tips. So we just dropped in yesterday evening early at 5:30 for a meal and quickly realized we should have had reservations. The gal at the front desk was sweet enough to squeeze us into a 5:30 the following day, we found out tonight while standing in line that that was unusual. The couple behind us vacations here regularly and tonight was their first time ever actually being able to get reservations. It is a small bakery by day…not open to the public. They are serving restaurants and coffee houses throughout the area during the day with their baked goods and Thursday through Saturday they open for diners. They boast no paper menu. You are told by the waitress/ hostess/owner? What the specials you may choose from. Harry chose lasagna Bolognese and I chose the Grouper and shrimp. Both meals were yummy! It is nothing fancy but it is obvious by the lines and hugs to all of the patrons it is a well loved restaurant in the area.

So, should you be visiting the area…1
. If you want to try Crust Bakery out…get reservations in advance.
2. No written menu also means…no prices up front. Be prepared for $$$.
3. If you are a wine drinker, we saw others bringing in their own bottles to be uncorked and served.
