Vagabond Tales– Happy Valentine’s Day

We spent our afternoon at the Bayfront Park in downtown Sarasota. At the end of the walkway in the park we happened upon the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. We had the time so we took the opportunity to go in and look around. A nice surprise, they had a Tiffany display both in the park and in their museum. We were unable to take pictures in the museum, but we got several in the gardens.

You need a drone to get a full picture of it!They had a beautiful collection of orchids. The two on the left are a couple of them. I love the yellow one belowSuch a lovely pond and very friendly koi! This shot is for my sister, Laurie…she has a beautiful pond in her backyard that she and her husband, Craig built. She is just waiting to have it warm enough for her fish to take their jackets and mittens off! They reside in northern Illinois.These are some of the Tiffany glass displays! The friends of the botanical gardens did their own version of stained glass. They preserved their own native plants in jars of water, alcohol, and glycerine. Of course, they added lights behind them. I love it!Nestled within the Banyan Tree roots, the flowers make their own colorful display.
Harry called two weeks ago for dinner reservations…he had his choice between a 3:00 and 3:30… we ended up choosing 3:30. Choices, choices! It was delicious and we topped it off with dessert by the fire at home.
It was delicious! We highly recommend. They were crowded!We made strawberry s’mores. Have you ever heard of that? I think I thought that up on my own but…there is nothing new under the sun, at least they were new to us… Delicious! You should try it! The end of a beautiful day! Traveling on tomorrow!

Thanks, Diane… the strawberry s’mores were delicious! Florida is harvesting there strawberries now so they were super sweet!
