Mission Accomplished! We have camped in all 48 Continental United States!We camped for stickers.Harry took me by surprise when he mentioned our girl Onyx…thus the tears!
The Red Bus Tour…
Climbing aboard one of many buses that were built especially for this park in 1936 we set off on a sometimes hair raising ride. Of course, they have been refurbished over the years but they still have their wooden frames!We started bright and early this morning and the temperature was in the 40’s.I brought a hat, coat, windbreaker and gloves. Harry wore a long sleeve t-shirt and his sweater.This was our first stop…The Lake McDonald Lodge…Reminding me so much of our family lodge in Minnesota.When we arrived to climb back on the bus…we had found our bus driver, Debbie had removed the top of the roof of our bus! We only thought we were cold on the first leg of our ride! She said this was great…we could all be prairie dogs and when we stopped we could pop our heads up.And…that is exactly what we did. Handy for taking pictures! Pop….Down….pop!,, It was very cold with the top down! That is a fact!Sadly, yes…fires were burning in Glacier this week! Here you see the U shaped valley.The sun sure tried her best!Over my shoulder you see a hanging valley. They usually hold or held glaciers. This one happens to hold Bird Woman Falls.Debbie, our driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable. She wanted to demonstrate how you could allow someone to safely look over the edge and Harry was her Guinea pig.Mountain aster.Ocean spray or iron wood…a shrub in western North America. We have seen several areas with this plant!Avalanche Creek
In honor and celebration of reaching our goal…we have decided to have three winners for our last contest of this trip. You really have a better shot at grabbing a prize, so let’s get those answers in.
We have one National Park left to visit on this trip and…it is in North Dakota. Please name our next park. Your answer must be in by September 15…6:00pm mountain time. We would love to see all of our followers, who have not won anything this trip, put their name on the wheel.❤️
