Vagabond Tales- Rust and Crust

September 3, 2022 Ashford, Washington Mounthaven RV Resort and Campground Site 9

We will start off tonight wishing our Daughter-in-law, Michelle a Happy Birthday! It was a special day when she joined our family! In her honor…I made Cranberry/Raisin Bran Muffins today.

Bran Muffins because everyone needs a little help when they reach a certain age.

Today we woke to 53° and the weatherman said it wouldn’t get much higher than 68°. He hit it on the head! Wonderfully cool day but along with that came clouds and fog, covering Mt Rainier in the morning. I still was not 100% so Harry said we were not doing high altitudes today. We attended a fairly private-public showing of the life works of…master welder/ metal sculptor, Dan Klennert. It was nice because Finn got to attend, as well!

These three small sculptures were his first pieces ever in 1972.
Finn thought for sure he could drive this vehicle just like he did the tractor. Because of all of the keep off signs, he could only look longingly at each form of transportation…knowing, full well if they would have let him…he would have been off and riding with the wind in his hair!
These are what Finn’s dreams are made of!
If you can read the character’s sign, then know we DID donate.
In honor of “the Old Hen’s Society”, even though I know very well this looks like a rooster…you, OLD HENS know who you are! 😀
And I have a vest to prove it!
This was a visual graph of how this artist feels about political donations to the arts.

He has posted some of his projects on YouTube under

“ Recycled Spirits of Iron.”

We stopped in a cute art gallery! And had lunch at the Copper Creek Inn!
They said they had a world famous blackberry pie and, of course we had to see what they were talking about.
Harry is a serious food critic…good but
perhaps not good enough for the title world famous.
Finn was not quite big enough to put on our Washington sticker. He is six months old today…he will have his official 6 month weigh in tomorrow.

String Man update- stitching still intact…losing appendages. Probably will not see the light of day tomorrow.

Goodbye Sting Man!

  1. Love the art pieces, especially the animals!

The reason Harry is such a good food critic is he lives with a gourmet cook and knows food at its finest!

    Praying you feel better!❤️
