Vagabond Tales- Farmer Finn

August 31, 2022 Brooks, Oregon Powerland Heritage Park Harvest Host

These roads in Oregon are tree-lined. Those trees are so tall it almost feels like you are driving in the downtown of a big city. You couldn’t see much in front of you or beside you since there is not much easement on the sides.

We had a fairly long day of driving today and waiting at the end of the road was The Powerland Heritage Park (a Harvest Host). We are parked under a grove of trees, alongside the railroad tracks of a model Locomotive that is 1/10th the size of a regular train!. We had a brief visit with the managers as the museum was not open. Finn was such a hit he came back with his 14 year old Westie to meet Finn. We were a bit skeptical…a 13 pound, 14 year old, female Westie with no teeth meeting our 5 month old, 50 pound whirling dervish, with a full mouth of young teeth but as with most dogs Finn meets…it was love at first sight, at least, for him. He tried to impress her by showing off his mad tractor skills, to no avail. It was only at the end of the date that she allowed him some face to face time.

“Look at me Roxie! Wanna’ take a ride with me?“

Hey, Jr. you’re not even old enough to be off the leash! Come around when you are a bit older.

Roxie
Lots of old equipment.
It is better
To have loved and lost,
Than never to have loved at all.

    1. Before we stop at one of the Harvest Hosts, we fill our water tanks up with water. We could use our oven because it is propane, but it was warm today and we needed to cool the camper down not heat it up. Works nicely in cold weather. We do have a battery that will run all of our lights and a fan…just no air conditioning. So not so bad. It has been cooling down to50 at night, so that plays in our favorite as well! How are you feeling?

  1. Adorable! Too funny – Finn trying to find a long distance relationship with an older doggie….Oh well – cute story and wonderful pics.
Love you both. Love the blog and hearing each day. HUGS
