Vagabond Tales- Hear a Song in the Air

April 28, 2022

David, Harry and I hiked the overlooks today!
Lovely weather and beautiful vistas!

The Overlook Trail was really a series of different rock outcroppings overlooking the mountains, the Russell Fork River and the Clinchfield train trestles… all connected by a foot path! It was such a beautiful day and have you noticed the birds seem to sing louder in spring? The air was filled with their music! You will have to turn up the volume for the little video snippet below.

In the spring…all birds are song birds.
The Breaks
Gotta have a selfie!
We stopped and visited with these two young people. They spend 10 months out of the year traveling around for the Nature Conservancy. They are scoping out rock climbing spots throughout the US and putting together a guide for other mountaineers. The guy was saying they didn’t even have this park in mind but someone suggested it and they were very excited! He said…”We’re stoked about the Breaks, dudes!” First time I have been included in a Dude statement.
Played a bit of corn hole and the guys showed off by winning, and winning!
We are proudly flying the American flag, Charlie and Suzanne Buchleiter gave us. Charlie builds the stand. Now we have to get a light for it so we can keep it out all night.
So you saw the sunset yesterday…This is the one we had tonight.
Just too cloudy. You can see a bit of pink trying to make a break for it but not the full glory of last night.
