March 25, 2022. We locked the gate and are headed off!
In a few hours from our home, we set up camp and awaited Charlie and Suzanne Buchleiter arrival.

Don Carter State Park is Georgia’s newest State park. It is situated on Lake Lanier and named after Don Carter who was a board member on Georgia’s Natural Resources Department for 29 years.

We drove into Gainesville, GA for lunch and to celebrate Suzanne’s birthday. We visited the Seafood Market for some fresh ocean catch. Although it was next door to a laundromat and in a rundown neighborhood, we all decided it was a delicious decision. It was the #1 trip advisor lunch spot.
