Vagabond Tales- Every Day Can’t Be a 5 Star

January 31, 2022

The day Harry had been waiting for…A visit to the National Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Barrancus. Everything was poised for a most joyous day. Harry had called ahead and so he knew the Blue Angels would not be flying today. Won’t be in until March. The weather was the warmest we have had this trip…in the 70’s. Waited in line only to be turned away this morning. Closed to everyone except US service personnel due to COVID.
Drove to Palafox Street in Pensacola, not very far from the Naval Base. Known as the gateway to Pensacola. The street was named after a Spanish nobleman. Not sure I would need to see it again!
There were several churches along this drive that had very melodious bells. We assume they may set food tents or craft booths up along this plaza because they have electrical boxes every so often up and down the promenade. Some of them had homeless in front of them charging their phones etc.
Ate lunch at the Ruby Slipper…it was just ok. No judgement here but one of us chose their meal wisely the other…not so much!
Top- hot fired chicken with mini cinnamon French toast swimming in cinnamon syrup. Bottom- fresh green salad with a 1/2 a grilled chicken breast with a vinaigrette dressing.
We looked up this nature park but we were majorly disappointed in all of the graffiti displayed on everything.

I guess the funniest thing we saw today was sent into us by a reader. The picture below is what has been suggested for my new bike seat. What do you think?

  1. It does look like a beautiful spring day. A little envious in that!
