Vavbond Tales-Visit the First State

September 17, 2021

Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution on December 7, 1787 so they began calling themselves the first state…wait for it…in 2002.

For all you South Siders…Do you see anything that reminds you of South Side on this sign? This is where we are hanging our hat tonight and tomorrow. Named Trap Pond, it was created in the 1700s for logging transport.
Trap Pond
One of the northern most natural stands of black bald-cypress in the United States. A large stand of them reside around the pond!
Ahhh! Another sticker for our map. A T-tiny sticker.

  1. You know, Harry, you and Brian are the only two people I know who still look like they did in high school!!!! Why didn’t I get some of those genes?? Looks like a wonderful trip. Hugs to both. M.E.

  2. Looks like several tiny stickers in your future. Reid has a nice small place by a pond in New Hampshire if you need a Plan B. Dan

  3. DE may be a small, tiny sticker, but big in the history of the US. Thanks for the history note. I always remember or learn a lot when you travel and post interesting facts.
love you guys – and Onyx too.

  4. Did she chew the new one that you guys bought after leaving Stony Fork?
Once again we all can travel with you guys, because of all the great pictures and details. It looks like a beautiful place. You will have to let us know how it is.
