Vagabond Tales- You Are Never too Old to Receive a Camper’s Care Package

May 4; 2021. Moab, Utah May the Fourth Be With You

Michell, Chris and Kaitlyn sent us a care package!
It was waiting for us on our camper steps! We feel loved!

That bone Onyx is chewing was in the box. It is peanut butter filled and although it was wrapped in its own plastic container and in the sealed box…She knew the box was for her and couldn’t wait until we handed it over! Her favorite!

The Arches Shut Out the Vagabonds

The Ranger was blocking the road when we arrived this morning at 9:45. She shared they had closed as of 9:00 due to overcrowding. We could come back and try at three. Well, we usually try to shoot for us to arrive back at the camper for Onyx around four o’clock when we have to leave her so it didn’t make much sense to go back at three.

We quickly did a little research and found a local popular hike….Fisher Tower Trail. And tower …just like the word overlook means lots of climbing up and down. You better believe, tomorrow morning, we will be up at the crack of dawn and be at The Arches National Park early.

More dirt roads! Our truck has seen more dirt roads on this trip than I think it has in a lifetime.
We started off strong! This stone face is part of the trail that we walked.
Harry stayed strong!
I wore pink so he could keep track of me!
Some of the tamer steps.
Lunch under a rock! Shade at last!
Our view from under the rock!
Some interesting finds along the way!
Once again, the cactus was just starting to bloom!
I will say…this was a tough trail to follow. Some parts were well marked but we were lost a couple times and needed guidance from the many hikers.
Can you see anything unusual in the center of this picture?
There were three climbers in the cleft of this rock! Fascinating to watch but I would never be interested in that, even if I was younger!
The day got long, my feet hurt walking on the uneven surface and
Harry and I cashed it in after walking 8,087 steps and 37 floors!
Party Poopers!

I hope tomorrow we will be able to announce that we were allowed entrance into Arches National Park where they have over 2,000 arches!
