Log Cabin Quilt Guild in Levy County formed in 1983 and traveled around from home to home meeting to learn new skills and share their love of quilting. Over the years they were growing and were interested in having their own building. The members raised $18,000.00 and with the aid of a 99 year land lease ( from one of the founder’s husbands), they began constructing the building in 1993 using the inmates from Lancaster Correctional institute 4 days a week for four years. They meet every Thursday to quilt and have lunch together.
I imagine the museum was very nice when they first opened but now the historic items are located around the perimeter of the building with quilted items for sale taking up most of the space..and it is a lot of space! It felt a lot like a craft show. I took some pictures of a couple old quilts that captured my eye and they are below.

This was our big rain day outing and I am afraid it was…Nothing to write home about but my weatherman is predicting a sunny day tomorrow! A traveling day!
You guys look COLD!!!!!
But looks like fun. M.E.
Cold and damp is not my favorite!
Come on home. We’ve had really good weather. 🌤🌞🌤☀️
😀. Headed your way…just will take us a few stops!😃. Harry has a plan.
I have a quilt exactly like the puffy one you showed I think it came from Grandma Dorr.
I think you are referring to the Yo Yo quilt! Sometimes people make vests and clothing from the yo yo pattern, as well! Do you think Grandma Dorr made it or was it from her antique shop?
