Vagabond Tales- Closures

Packed our lunch and went to Kasha- Katuwe Tent Rocks today…about an hour away, only to find the whole park closed due to road work, or that is what we were told. With rain predicted for the afternoon, we headed back to the camper. Took a walk with Onyx around the unique RV Park we are staying in called Santa Fe Skies. We have enjoyed it, just wish it was a bit warmer so we could take advantage of our cute little patio.

Our view from our front door along with our own trail up to a gas engine display by William Brown, curator for the Rusty Nuts.
Mr. Brown had great labels on each of the items if you were interested.
Some were as old as the 1940’s.

They had sculptures along the foot path to enjoy. This trip to Santa Fe , Harry planned around my interests and my eye exam. This would leave us some days for the eye to recoup and for leisurely looking at art shops, etc. It looks like this will be something we put on the back burner until the world calms down. So with that said, Joe Sackett’s found objects art may have to do. He is a stakeholder at this park and does this as his retirement hobby. I like a couple of them! And it is pretty unique to have them around the pads.

No title for this one. I will just call it…Sangre de Cristo. (The mountains around Santa Fe). Now, this…Harry could buy me! But I am afraid this one is not for sale.

  1. We really hate that your trip is getting cut short, but with everything that is going on, you really do need to be heading home. We hated to hear about your eye issue, and we are thanking GOD that you have already got an appointment to see your doctor!
Your journey has been an awesome one! We thank you for allowing us to be a part of it. Your pictures are fabulous! The details that you give are great, so it is like we are there with you guys. We have been there in spirit!
Now we will be praying for your safe return home and praying for everyone who will be involved in your eye repair surgery! We know that everything will be in GOD’S hands, so just know that we love you guys and are here if you need anything!!!!!
    Love and prayers

    1. Thank you so much Ruthann. Seems everything is collapsing around us! We leave tomorrow am… it is a matter of finding campsites that are open and places we can stay. We would dry camp more but that is when our CO2 goes off so we feel we need to be somewhere with electricity. Hopefully we will be home this coming weekend! That is the plan.

  2. I like the bike one. ‘When you Ride’ unique. Hope you are getting some good rest and down time before trekking back across america. love you guys

    1. Definitely down time. EVERYTHING shut down in Santa Fe. All parks…even some roads! Bright and early tomorrow morning. My eye has been a bit painful since the Doc had to look for tears…like no other exam I have had to date. Headed out now to take Onyx for a walk!
