Vagabond Tales- It Has Been So Windy…We’re Using a Log Chain Instead of a Wind Sock.

Just trying to talk Texan, here! Rode into Texas last night to stay at another of our Harvest Hosts. We got in late and the thermometer read 39 *. This place had water and electric hook up however, the current was not consistent so our heater worked only at half capacity and we had no hot water. It was so windy we brought the slide on the camper in…that meant I slept on the banquette in the kitchen and Harry grabbed a bunk. ( Our bed is a Murphy bed and cannot be lowered if we have the slide in.). It was so cold the milk cows were giving icicles so we left our clothes on for the night. Brr! We were happy to see the sun this morning.

Camp Site on the Gulf of Mexico with Harvest Hosts.
The Gulf is in the background. You can see several flags in this picture but there were more American flags in this small area than I could shake a stick at. They are truly patriotic here.
We stopped at Buc-ee Beavers for lunch in honor of our beaver hunter.

So we have settled down at a Corps of Engineer park for a couple of days. We are at Cedar Ridge Park on Bolton Lake. We have done so much driving/ riding we look forward to the break!

The view from the back of our camp site. Purdier than a picture!
The map is filling up. Our rule…you can only place a sticker if you have camped in that state.

  1. So glad you two love to camp! I would have headed to a hotel! What a wonderful adventure. Happy trails the you!

    1. Debbie…I was of the same mind as you ‘this night…however, we were out in the boondocks…would have been difficult to pack up and leave. One night for us in the scheme of things. Just part of the adventure!😘
