Today found us hiking the Oberholtzer Trail (quite early, hoping to miss the big rain that was forecasted.) We were great for the first half of the hike but the winds came up and we hurried to finish the trek so we wouldn’t be caught.

Saw a great video about the Voyageurs who were French Canadian Trader/ trappers/transporters of goods by canoe throughout the 1700’s and into the early 1800’s. 40% of this national park consists of a maze of interconnected water highways. So glad we came! It has been wonderful!

We have decided to bid Arnold’s Campground goodbye a day early. The rains have come in and we are parked in and around flooded ground, not to say anything about our early 6 am wake up calls each morning by the beep, beep, beeping of the school busses backing out of the municipal school bus garages. They just happen to be right outside our front door. Our pull through drive exits to their parking lot as you can see in the forefront of this picture. ( I told you this was the only full hook up campground in the area. I also told you this has been my least favorite site. Now you know why!)

Big Fish Bustin’ is a “For Real Thing” here in Minnesota and here is Harry to prove it!

What in the world? I know…we asked the same question. This is a Hodag found in the heart of the Northwoods in Rhindlander, Wisconsin. Great stories are written about the Hodag and we laughed as I read them to Harry as he drove.
Love those BIG statues.
Poppy riding the BIG fish is funny and one of our favorites.
Funny story behind that Fish picture. It was drizzly the day before and I got out to take the picture without anyone in the shot and it wasn’t until later when I pulled them off of the camera and viewed it on the larger screen that I realized it had a saddle.😄. I made Harry take us back the next day just for that picture! It turned out better than I thought it would!
Love the picture of Harry fish-busting!!
Had to talk him into that one!😄 🐟
😆
Karen, you look so beautiful in the picture in the woods!!
Thank you, Diane. My hair is getting a bit shaggy. Don’t know if I will make it before we get home.
Cool statues
You would have loved getting on the walleye that Poppy rode, Spencer! Pretty cool!
Paul Bunyan showed up in our mailbox today! Thanks for the smile! Continuing to pray for your safe journeys.
Thank you! They mean a lot!
