We got off the mark a bit late this morning as our roofers were still here. They finished up today and we are thankful…1. For a roof that doesn’t leak and 2. For a son and daughter-in-law who step in when we need someone to check out the work and lock up for us.

Rolling into Nolin State Park ( pronounced…NO Lynn) later than we would have liked…I prepared a quick meal while Harry set everything up outside. Our site is close to the lake…two things we noticed…not many other campers near-by and lots of mosquitoes. 🦟

Just a bit of local history…Nolin River is named for an early explorer, Benjamin Lynn. Serving under George Rogers Clark during the Revolutionary War, he was sent to Illinois to spy on the British and Native American forces. Upon his return, he and his friends were camped in the Green River area. He became separated from his group and every night when the search party returned with no sign of him, they would say…”no Lynn”. So the river where they camped became known as Nolin. Could make a good ghost story, if someone had a mind to.
Glad you guys made it safely! Looks like a beautiful park and a really cool history behind the name. Love you!

Have a FABULOUS trip!
You have a bigger camper than your first one, don’t you?
Love you!
It is 2 feet longer but I think the picture makes it look bigger. A good photo trick for fish pictures.😃. 🎣
What a great start, Thanks.
Even with the rain, great pictures.
I like the camper and truck in the picture with the sign of the camp ground.
Cool history.
