Vagabond Tales- Explore Fort De Soto Batteries

It poured the rain this morning before we rolled out of bed but after showers and breakfast the weather was grand for exploring the Fort and the beaches around it. The temperature today is a breezy 73 degrees. Not much left of the Fort as much has been eroded by the Gulf. We imagine scuba diving right off the beach might be interesting, if one was so inclined. Cannons and building have sunk right into the sea.

You can see some scaffolding in the middle of the picture. That was once a lookout.

  1. Love the picture of the tree and the water is beautiful! I wondered if you all got some of the rain.

    1. Yes…We sure did get the rain. We had pulled the awning in for the night. We don’t always do that but we were looking at the weather map and thought it would be best. Our little campsite has some small potholes filled with water today. Love you! K.

    1. Debbie, I thank you. It has been fun to journal this trip like this. Just tough deciding which pictures to post. Hope all is well with both you and Gerald! ❤️ K.
