Cold and Rainy in SC

We have had 2 days of cold and rain. It may have kept us from doing as much as we would like out-of-doors but we have had fun never the less.

Gray tank was full ( For those of you who don’t know…the gray tank is water from all of our sinks and tubs…black tank is your toilet.) and needed to be emptied but with the rain and cold we chose to forgo that until the next morning. That night we decided it would be a paper plate and taco kind of night.

I love these oven baked cheesy tacos. Only Harry and I but easy for a large group.

We ran into Congaree to get our books stamped, talk to the rangers and watch their introduction to the park video. Vast difference in crowds today. Maybe two other cars in the lot besides ours.

Then on to Columbia for some sightseeing and lunch.

Harry couldn’t resist getting a little work in. Ran a huge water test!

Near the largest fire hydrant in the world, they had this great tunnel mural painted on a building. Looked just ok in person but this is one time being there is not as good as the photograph!

Had a question on the elephant in the previous post …perhaps some of you had issues seeing it, as well. I saw this bit of downed tree and saw an elephant in it.

Sun in the sky today today…We are off in search of adventure!

  1. Now I see the Elephant, the yellow circle and putting on my reading glasses helped. We love all the other pictures…Tacos made me hungry and the HUGE hydrant is great! Working on vacation!
    Love you guys.

  2. While you are in Columbia check out the zoo. We enjoyed it on our way to St. Augustine. I didn’t see the elephant either until you pointed it out. Guess you had to be there.
I wish you warmer weather very soon.

  3. These posts are so much fun to read! Thanks for taking the time to document your trip. I can live vicariously through the adventures of Karen and Harry.

The mural is amazing! I hope no one has ever tried to drive through the tunnel!

P.S. You will have to share the taco recipe!

    1. We would have liked the zoo, too but it was Such a pretty day to be out hiking. Not as much spring here as we had hoped but we have the park pretty much to ourselves. Maybe three other campers and our host.
