Of course, they wanted to send us right into space the minute they set their eyes on us. Why you might ask? We were probably the only Americans there today!Every year, I taught a great integrated unit on space in my classes, complete with a space bubble they could go into and a space souvenir shop where they could buy moon rocks and miniature rings of Saturn! Every year the children looked forward to that unit of study! I went to space camp one year in Huntsville at The U.S. Space and Rocket Center, our youngest son Ryan,went to Cape Kennedy Space camp in Florida for over a week and to Huntsville with a class in elementary school so …Harry and I both were excited for this visit today.Lower left…this is Harry touching an actual moon rock the astronauts brought back from the moon. Did you know we have several lunar exploration missions planned, including lunar landings? The astronauts above will be heading to the moon September 2026. Gregory Wiseman, Victor Glover First Black person to visit the moon, Christina Koch will be the first woman on a trip to the moon and Jeremy Hansen, first non American..he’s a Canadian. This is where all the mock up and models are housed for the trip to Mars. They are doing extended training at this time in here.Part of our tour included the full size replica of every space ship and they do simulations with the astronauts in these.As our old friend Buzz Lightyear says…. “To Infinity and beyond!”

No, we went down there because I had missed my 5th grade field trip there back in 2020. It was a lot of fun!
We love all of the space centers! A lot of creative energy there!❤️
