Vagabond Tales- Finn Loves a Good Sniff-Ari

January 31, 2024. Croft State Park, Spartanburg, South Carolina

I thought I would let you hear from Harry about a bit of a snafu we ended up with yesterday during set up. Below is the picture to let you know where his story takes place.

On the back wall is our water filter housing. I had taken my old filter in to the store this winter and said I need one of these. From now on I’ll look at my product numbers because after changing this filter, water started flying. Wrong size! This is a mighty small space to clean up after a water spray episode! Everything got washed…just would have chosen a better time. The canister is empty right now. Will get new one tomorrow.

First up was a bread delivery to the Ranger.
We started out with the “Nature Hike” this morning. Generally, they are the shortest in the park and most of the time they are in the easy category. This proved to be true on both counts …maybe a two mile hike from our camper and only a few climbs.

Finn loves sniffing everything. It would take us twice as long on these hikes if we just let him sniff indiscriminately! But new places always excite him and the Sniff-Ari begins.

Fairforest Creek- Finn loves the sand between his toes! Makes him go crazy!
He has certainly grown up! Last year he would have walked up to the downed tree and would have waited for help…not this time! Up and over!
We followed these small signs along the way. The two below were a surprise!

  1. Well if that’s the worst thing that happens on your adventure, I’d say you’re lucky! Finn is GORGEOUS and BIG!!! Hugs. M.E.

      1. Thanks, Karen. We are hanging in there! Big year for us. In April, Paul will be 90 and I will be 75. He is not looking forward to that and I still can’t get him out of the apartment but I walk everyday and try to walk to stores that are reasonably close. I love following you both. It’s vicarious enjoyment 😊😍😎
