Vagabond Tales-Saying Goodbye Never Gets Easier

September 27, 2022 Cicero, Indiana, White River Campground Site 32

Had a lingering goodbye with my mother late this morning after a nice breakfast together! Pictured below is that Gourmet fed kitty I told you about yesterday! Dory was found in a puddle in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, making her 16 years old! She is a great friend to my mama!

Dory…Age 16
Finn is in this picture, too! He is just running around the yard near our feet.
When we were hugging, Mom asked, “When did you get taller than me?”

Do you find it gets harder and harder to say goodbye to your family and good friends? Maybe it only happens to those of us who have been around long enough to know these precious times just don’t come along everyday and in fact, may not roll around again. For those of you who live near family and these times do come along more often…take time to relish them, take good pictures, hug your loved ones tight and don’t be the last to relinquish the hug! God has granted us so many days on Earth, we must capture every drop of the glitter of life we can!

We drove through the farmland of Indiana most of the day.
These grain elevators always capture the eye as one drives through the plains.

Tonight we got together with our college friends, Tom and Beverly Otey. We are both going through some uprooting and replanting in our lives…interesting we didn’t know we were mirroring each other until very recently! A short but really nice visit!

What a great restaurant this was. Harry had Jumbalia, I had a kale and Brussels sprout salad with blackened chicken, Beverly had mahi mahi tacos and Tom had something chicken with white cheddar mashed potatoes and broccoli.

We have heard from our three final winners! Congratulations!

Debbie Godsey, behind the camera in this one! Her prize sits atop the book she is reading. Harry and I studied this with one of our college groups one year. It is so good!
Kaitlyn got her mug, too! She can now offer one of her
suite mates a cup of cocoa, too!
Kathy says when she lived in Montana, she heard a lot of North Dakota jokes. We heard some Montana jokes…You know you’re from Montana when you make your kid’s Halloween costume large enough to allow for a snowsuit underneath it! 😄

We decided to give the first two people responding to the broccoli bush a broccoli/ veggie dip kit . Travel Joan must be traveling as we haven’t heard back from her but we got a picture from Dan and Karol Lynn Johnson…they were the second to respond! They look very serious about their broccoli dip!
