Vagabond Tales- Thru Seattle to Howard Miller Steelhead Park

September 7, 2022. Rockport, Washington Howard Miller Steelhead Park. Site 9

Drive Day…we did pull into camp early enough to get the lay of the land this afternoon.

Drove smack-dab through the middle of Seattle.
Lots of places to walk Finn and some places we decided not to take him.
We are in the middle. .
Skagit River lies directly behind our camper.
This is our campground host…grew up in Asheville, NC and is contemplating moving back our way in a few years. You have all heard of the Yellowstone floods this spring ,I am sure…well the Skagit River flooded, as well. The land sat under water so long that the grass was killed over the whole campground. So he had been watering our site before we rolled in…no rugs allowed and amidst the new baby grass…nothing but mud. Finn’s absolutely dream digging soil and our nightmare.
We were excited about this trail until we saw the posted sign. We decided it was best not to take our puppy on it at dusk.

** Update on the step issue we had earlier in the trip.

Harry found the Step Savers Dave Gasaway had suggested as a remedy at a camper supply store. So much sturdier now.
