Oh, by the way…Today is Monday so it is Finn’s Weigh In Day. He topped the scales at 47.5. We are getting nervous…at six months the literature says you can double their weight mathematically to find their approximate adult weight. Finn is not 6 months yet!🐾

Another dream in the making! This park allowed Finn to go anywhere we could wander except the cafe. We learned just how few manners we had instilled in our puppy! We have a long way to go! He was highly excitable!

Harry had signed us up for a Jeep Buffalo Hunt Safari and dinner tonight. We thought it might be like our elk hunt in Kentucky for a while because we were not having any luck but right before dinner we hit the jackpot. PS. They gave us the hats and bandanas. Everyone was dressed alike.

Look closely in the lower middle of this picture. Can you spot the three or four prairie dogs chatting to each other? We passed many of these villages. They are trying to keep them to certain parts of the park so they do thin out the population on a regular basis. I enjoyed hearing them bark and squeal.
The park likes to keep their herd to 1,000 over the winter so the end of September each year they have a round-up and sale. There is still time to get in on the action and get your very own Buffalo! Our driver said, he thought they would sell close to 700 this year.
They guys provided great dinner music and some pretty corny jokes!😀
We had a delicious meal around the Chuck wagon! We shared a table with two couples who have worked seasonally at Dollywood. It’s a small world! Next year when you take the tram from the parking lot and you get Cindy and Buddy as your guides…say hello from us! They have had a super interesting retirement!

  2. Nice to see wildlife photos in which one can actually see the wildlife–prairie dogs, antelopes and bison/buffalo.

    1. It was a berry pleasant evening and our guide was super knowledgeable. The only animal We would have like to have seen while there, were the wild long earred burro, one our dinner companions talked about!
