Vagabond Tales- Morning Hike Through the Badlands

August 14, 2022. Cedar Pass Campground and Custer State Park at the Game Lodge Campground

Don’t be fooled…Harry is wearing his pj shorts under his outer wear short and I am wearing my most baggy clothing to escape bothering our chigger bites.
The skies this morning were so dramatic…makes for gorgeous pictures!
Look closely…we had to. You’ll see a big horned sheep!

One of my favorite things on this hike was seeing this little picnic pavilion and all of the Cliff Swallows who had taken it over!

Notice they are inside, too!

After our hikes, it was still not too late in the morning so we looked at each other and said…let’s head to Custer State Park…maybe it will be cooler!

I’m a sucker for a stream picture. This
is a short distance from our campsite at Custer S.P.

And Then There Were 5

Our neighbors came running over when we were putting our sticker on, they evidently had been talking about it while we ate dinner and when we sprang the sticker out…they joined in celebrating!

  1. Too bad about those chiggers. We are fortunate not to have them here in East Tennessee.

It’s good the Bighorn stood as a silhouette or he might have been hard to spot.

We’re looking forward to your further adventures in the Northwest.

    1. I am glad to have never encountered them! Don’t want to meet them again either. For the life of me, I cannot figure out their purpose in life…except to make their victims miserable!
