Vagabond Tales- Rest and Stickery Situations

Aug 10, 2022- Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park…Wildwood Missouri

Dr. Babler was a well known Dr. and surgeon. Both brothers, Jacob and Henry donated the land 2400 acres, for this park and commissioned the sculpted monument. He was known for being a friend to the downtrodden. He devoted the majority of his time to charity cases. He died at the young age of 55 from pneumonia and his was one of St. Louis’ largest attended funerals ever.
The visitor center had a butterfly garden and a very cool bird viewing station.
The top picture is the great paved trail Harry had found for us but we in our wisdom, decided to take a shortcut that added about 45 minutes of additional grooming to Finn’s and my schedule routine.
This Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly followed us for quite a while on the paved trail. Note he is in the top picture above resting on the ground and I captured him again in the air.
His fluffy coat is like a Swifter…
The chest was nothing compared to his legs and face.

Although Harry called around quite a bit today, we still are no closer to fixing the steps permanently. We are off to the 29th state to join the union tomorrow. IOWA.
