Vagabond Tales- Debate Who Had the First Mardi Gras…Mobile AL or New Orleans,LA

January 29,2022

I think the answer will surprise you. Or at least, the debate will.
In 1703 Fort Louis de Mobile observed America’s very first Mardi Gras…or at least that is their claim. I should have a picture of moon pies, as well, because Mobile boasts they throw over 3 million moon pies from the floats each year.
So by now, you have figured out we traveled to Mobile Alabama for the day.

A Visit with Dear Friends

We met Alf and Allison Nelson at the GulfQuest National Maritime Museum in Mobile, Alabama.
If you get a chance to go, we think you would really enjoy it.
Many things for kids to do, as well,
Bottom Left- Ali has been caught in gale storm winds. Bottom Right- Harry is entertaining us by steering an underwater mini sub to a specific area in the ocean.
Alf steered us through the Mobile Harbor in a really cool simulator.

All that work and fun around the water made us hungry so we headed out to search some seafood fare.

Not much of a wait and we were seated.
So much fun to catch up with them!
