Vagabond Tales- Even in Florida …Winter Golf is Not for Sissies

January 28, 2022

He only thinks he is dressed well for golf today!

My plan was to do a ride along with Harry on the golf course. The blustery and chilly weather made me change my mind, so Harry set off to play 18 holes.

Harry said there was not much wood to actually get tangled in on this course. Questionable where the name came from!
The fairway.
Sometimes winter golfing has more challenges than just hitting the ball in the right direction! Wind chill was one of those things today! My day was spent, in the warm, with a good book and making another River bracelet.
Harry came home frozen so I was glad I stayed put!

The sun came out for a bit when Harry arrived home so we took another walk along the Blackwater River.

Still no alligators. Wikipedia says, “ when the weather gets too cold for alligators, they temporarily shut down in a process called brumation , which is the reptile version of hibernation.”
I find this spidery foamy pattern on this water fascinating. You can see it on the right side of this small stream. It is not polluted water but the result of natural aeration. It looks spider web-like with a definite pattern to it..
