Vagabond Tales-A Little Bit of This and That
May 10, 2021 Elwood, Nebraska …Travel Day
*** Yesterday’s contest entry ends at 12 midnight EST tonight.
Harry looked out the door this morning at 6:50 and told me we were in a race against time. The weatherman was forecasting a winter storm that would end up leaving our area with 6 to 18 inches of snow by the afternoon. I think we broke camp in record time, as we were driving down the drive at 7:55 this morning. The roads were wet and slippery but not icy! Thanking the Lord for our safety!
Look who came out to wish us safe travels.A May Wonderland!
Now for the this and that…These are just a collection of things that made us smile, scratch our heads, have our eyes bug out, or things we have been sent while on the trip that we thought you might be interested in knowing.
Did you know a sling hammock is an accessory for your Jeep? A place to read and get a tan, while everyone else hikes.Just a couple of unusual gates.I imagine this truck belongs to a soldier. I would be interested in knowing the story behind his hood ornament. Might be a sad story? We enjoy sculpture and this made us smile! Can be found in the city of Montrose,Colorado.OK. I over- rode Harry’s veto of showing this. It was in one of our National Parks. We have traveled overseas but to find this in the US was surprising. What are the handrails for? So low. Oh, well, that’s enough of that.We thought our son, Ryan would enjoy this sign we found on the road in Capitol Reef! Several years ago he spotted marmots playing around a vacation home we were staying in in California! At the Wonderland Campground in Torrey, Utah… you can rent a Conestoga wagon to spend the night.By the way, the Sawicki girls found their geo cash we had hidden for them! A video below! You are so welcome! Great job! This was painted ON THE BACK of a store. The ravens have entertained us and I just thought it was cool!I know you were wondering if Onyx ever had her nails worked on while we are on the road. Yes, Harry uses the Dremel Drill/ Sander on them once a week.
Harry got a nice text from our first contest winner, Ken Flinders when his prize arrived. “ Received the book today. Enjoyed reading it. Thank you.”
Our granddaughter, Kaitlyn received her Utah hand crafted wall art on the day she was headed out to the Prom!Onyx became a member of the Paw Patrol when the weather got so cold at night she needed a little help keeping warm.We stopped in…wait for it…Nowhere, Nebraska to refuel. Cray name! This is where we are camping tonight…site complete with our very own lilac bush in bloom! There is a beautiful lake here and they are equipped with a fish house for cleaning fish…it must be good fishing!

Glad to see your most current site has spring flowers, than winter snow! Safe travels home! love you guys.
This campground has a variety of different flowering bushes but so many lilacs and different colors…pink, deep purple, white, lighter purple like ours! Smells nice!

Thank you for following, Debbie! There are times when it is very comforting knowing we are not in the wilderness alone! ❤️
