Vagabond Tales- Live from Canyonland

May2, 2021 1 Hour southwest of Moab, Utah! ***Contest 2 results Video included in this blog.

He drove to Canyonland National Park today. About an hour from our campsite! It was a lot more crowded than any place we have been on this trip!

The National Park sign where we always stop even had a line to take pictures! We waited through one couple jumping a zillion times, trying to get each other mid air. Well, maybe not a zillion but they definitely need to practice their skills! Harry and I will try tomorrow…somewhere, where no one is watching! Do we even remember how to jump?

We waited in line to get past the park registration booth at least 30 minutes. The couple in front of us with the barbecue grill offered to take our picture. They were not the jumpers.
Today the sky was competing for favorite child status!

Our first stop was a short hike to the Mesa Arch! Normally, I do not show you crowd shots but this is the arch with people. I would have liked to get this far back to take it unadorned with people but I had to settle for more closeups of this beautiful formation. You would start to take a shot and a group would jump in front.

It was from this group of students that we asked a young man to do our Contest 2 drawing. You will have to watch the video to see who won!

This young man offered to take the picture below out of the blue. And then I asked if he would do us another favor. He gladly drew a name and was applauded and cheered from his friends at the end.

I guess I cut this off a bit but I think it helps to see what you are looking at. This was a short walk to the overlook.
You can see inside this canyon better with this picture!
On the way to the Green River Overlook they had these cool fences they had fashioned out of wind blown trees and limbs. Beautiful!
If you squint you can see the Green River in the top right. We were surprised how green it really looked from afar.
Two really pretty flowers that I will have to research. The yellow was a bush that you could smell it’s aroma from a distance.
