We are proud to announce Onyx has been issued her official Bark Ranger certificate! She had many admirers and plenty of congratulations to last her for a long time. Just might be the highlight of her trip.

Painted Desert

I have long been interested in ancient petroglyphs and was excited to see several drawings both at the Pueblo ruins and at Newspaper Rock where it is said many people would travel through this area and leave messages for each other.

The one below was on newspaper rock.

Blue Mesa

Giant Logs- Petrified Forest- Crystal Forest

They became rocks…petrified forest rocks.

***Well, you have come to the end of our blog today. We picked up something pretty neat from this National Park’s gift shop. If you can tell us what famous highway runs right through the Petrified Forest and is also the title of a TV show in the sixties, you will be entered to win our prize. You MUST have your answer in by midnight on Saint Patrick’s Day….Tomorrow night.

I was fortunate to get to travel to the Badlands and Petrified Forest years ago with Mama and Daddy. It is a hauntingly beautiful place!
My answer is Route 66!
Glad you saw it. It was a bit difficult getting to everything as they had road work going on, so we did the Painted Desert side then drove out and went around the outside of the park to the other side. We have your answer listed!
We also saw the Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, NM, and other sights in Texas. It was a wonderful trip!
Trips leave lasting memories!❤️
Another great blog of pictures and history of that National Park. I loved reading it. Congrats to Onyx for getting her Bark Ranger certificate…that is great!
It was the only park that has allowed pets so far! She loved it!
