Wilderness trekking was off the table for today. We headed out for Tombstone, Arizona to witness a re-enactment of the Shootout at the OK Corral. We knew going in we had a 50- 50 chance… one, it could be the best thing since sliced bread or two, it could be really, really cheesy! When they said it was audience participation, we needed to boo when the bad guys walked on and cheer when the good guys arrived, I knew we were in for a double helping of cheese. 🧀

After we felt like we had seen the best Tombstone had to offer, we headed back to Tucson and took in the Pima Air and Space Museum, one of the worlds largest private aerospace museums in the world. It features a display of 300 aircraft over 80 acres, 5 hangers…plus the tram was sold out. Yes, we got our steps in TODAY!
This place was eye opening for me. You would think after almost 49 years of marriage that I would know this fact about Harry. A fact I did know…he loved to put plastic models of planes together, particularly WWII aircraft, as a boy. However, I did not know he had wanted to be a pilot. Pretty cool but sad he never followed through on that dream. ✈️ He sure knew a lot about what we were viewing.
Now we do have a problem with the photos you are about to see because I was enthralled with the cute and painted planes and I was the photographer so I am afraid Harry’s choices are not as well represented. Also, since I know I have a couple space buffs following…we were disappointed the space hanger was closed for remodeling so we were unable to see that display.

Convair B36J. Peacemaker strategic Bomber. This one is for Harry.

Tomorrow..we head for California…Joshua Tree
What a cool museum of different aircraft. I really enjoyed the Naval museum in Pensacola. That place looks just as cool.
