Vagabond Tales- Boxed Water Is Not Better

Note to self…Do not forget to fill up your water bottle in the morning before you head out! You have always disliked the taste of things packaged in cardboard. Water is no different!

Today we headed to Mammoth Cave National Park. Shouldn’t have been that long of a trip…Unfortunately our GPS was not in the know.

This is just an aside…notice the amount of leaves on the ground. That may change as we go north.

Siri and Harry were not seeing eye to eye today but we did finally make it. What better thing to do on a rainy day but to go down in cold, mammoth cave? Over 412 miles of caverns…longest charted in the world! And we were told they may be changing that number soon.🤭. And just because I know you were asking yourself…no, we only walked 2 miles of it underground on the Historic Tour, which we heartily recommend.

Tour guide extraordinaire.

Salt Peter manufacturing was done in the cave during the war of 1812.
Tubular cave passage- made by rushing underground water from the Green River.
This wasn’t the place our guide named different formations but I saw creepy faces in this one.
Historic candle- smoke written graffiti…done prior to becoming a national park.

  1. I thought you would do the “Wild Tour” where we crawl through mud and squeeze through tight places?? 😀
