Vagabond Tales- Lunch on a Log

Today…Oh so fun! Hiking The Cowasee. Had a grand time although the posted 1.7 mileage turned into more like 3. Well marked trails but somehow we walked more. Aren’t phones great, keeping track of how far you walk? Stopped for lunch on a log. Wouldn’t my dermatologist be happy I am wearing my hat? Saw him right before I left and you can see my right cheek took the liquid nitrogen pretty hard as he found another precancerous spot on my face.

📍Next…just some pictures from the hike… I know Ruth Ann has been waiting to see a fungus shot! ( Inside joke…I take too many of these pictures. I have never seen a fungus I didn’t find fascinating.😃) Can’t help it I think they are beautiful! Not much blooming along the trail as we are a bit early for spring.

These fallen trees are called “nurse logs”… as they decay they provide nutrients for new seedlings and make a great hide out for insects and animals.

Dinner…Finally outside…great scenery, no bugs and great grub.

Roasted pork tenderloin, Blended mixed rice, salad
Last night at Poinsett State Park…Great memories!

  1. Looks like lots of fun. Enjoying the posts! Rain, rain, rain here in Nashville. So much that the schools are closed tomorrow for flooding. Kids are pumped up. Love you and safe travels.

    1. A friend sent us pictures of Brentwood. Pretty shocking! . Are their schools flooded, as well? Raining today as we drive out. We hooked up last night in the balmy weather so not as much out in the rain work this morning. Love you❣️

  2. Love the pictures. I am like you Karen, I love the fungus shots. I am fascinated by them. Keep the pictures and travel info coming. We enjoy hearing from you.
    Love you💗
